Add a Puzzle or Word Search
Want to add something fun for students to do on your classroom website? How about adding a Puzzle or Word Search? Unique and challenging, the Puzzles module allows you to upload your own image and choose the level of difficulty from 9 easy pieces to a challenging 49 pieces. The system will automatically cut your image into jigsaw pieces. Students can post their top scores; creating a healthy competition within the class. Or tease your students' brains with our Word Search puzzle. Enter in five words to be hidden in your puzzle and determine the level of difficulty - easy, medium or hard. You can hide words vertically, horizontally, diagonally or reverse them. Add some competition to the puzzle by displaying the high scores. To add a Puzzle: Click on the My Applications tabClick on Add Puzzle under the Puzzles - Word Searches areaEnter in a Puzzle NamePuzzle Image - Upload your image by clicking on the Browse button. Your puzzle image will be resized to 280 x 280. Your puzzle will look best if you upload an image that is already of equal height and width so the image resizer doesn't have to "stretch" the image.Determine the Difficulty Level - Easy, Medium or HardSpin Pieces - Would you like the puzzle pieces to spin? Puzzle takers will have to spin the pieces to obtain the correct orientation in addition to placing them in the right position. This makes the puzzle much more difficult.Show High Scores - Would you like the High Scores to display? Select Yes or No.Show on Website - You can also choose to have the Puzzle show on your site or not by using the dropdown button and choosing Yes or No.Hit Save.To test out your new puzzle, click on the Puzzles link, then on Try Puzzle.To add a Word Search: Click on the My Applications tabClick on Add Word Search under the Puzzles - Word Searches areaEnter in the NameSelect the Difficulty Level - Easy (64 letter grid), Medium (100 letter grid) or Hard (144 letter grid)Determine how you'd like to hide the words either vertically, horizontally, or reverse by selecting Yes or No with the menus.Show High Scores - Would you like the High Scores to display? Select Yes or No.Show on Website - You can also choose to have the Puzzle show on your site or not by using the dropdown button and choosing Yes or No.Enter in the Words to Find in the text fields. Changing the difficulty level will change the limit on the words to find. Easy will be 5 words of 6 characters each (max), Medium is 6 words with limit of 7 characters, and Hard is 8 words with limit of 8 characters for each.Hit Save.
